Andrew C. Ausband

Owner and Founder
Mr. Ausband's expertise is in representing clients who have suffered serious injuries or death due to the carelessness or negligence of others. Mr. Ausband has served as lead counsel on numerous trucking accidents, nursing home abuse, motor vehicle accident, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases. He also represented families of small children with unique injuries, brain damages, and paralysis, as well as those who have suffered injuries caused by over the counter drugs, prescription drugs, and toxic/asbestos exposure and recently concluded a trial against a major corporation over a racially hostile work environment. Mr. Ausband has tried over 25 civil cases, and he is admitted to all Federal and State Courts in Georgia.

Mr. Ausband received his B.A. degree in finance from the University of Georgia in 1986, where he was President of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, President of the Southeastern Interfraternity Council, and a Member of Gridiron Secret Society. He completed internships with the Democratic National Committee in Washington, D.C., and the Governmental Relations Department at the Coca Cola Company during his undergraduate studies. He earned his J.D. degree from the University Of Georgia School Of Law in 1989.

Mr. Ausband is a member of the American Association for Justice, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, State Bar of Georgia, and Roscoe Pound Foundation. Mr. Ausband is also a National Advisory Board Member for the Association of Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. He is married with 3 children and is a member of Northside Methodist Church in Atlanta.

Kathryn W. Carpenter joined Ausband & Dumont in October, 2007. Mrs. Carpenter received a Governors Scholarship in 2000 and she attended the University of Georgia, where she received a BA in Management in 2004. She than attended a John Marshall Law School and received her JD in 2007.

Mrs. Carpenter is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. She is married, lives in Jackson, Georgia, with her husband Keith and her stepdaughter Joey and is a member of the United Methodist Church in Locust Grove.

Douglas C. Dumont

Doug Dumont, Partner
Like the other professionals at the Ausband & Dumont, Doug strives to be the best both inside and outside the courtroom. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1998 with a degree in Political Science and then earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. He has successfully won settlements and trials for clients in state and federal courts throughout the southeast, and his appellate record is unbeaten. Collectively, the firm has recovered over $40,000,000 for their clients and look forward to helping more people and families who who have been injured by another's bad decisions.

Doug was a SuperLawyer Rising Star in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015, and a SuperLawyer 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. He was also nominated to the Georgia Verdicts Hall of Fame in 2014 for a single verdict over $20,000,000!

Outside the courtroom, Doug spends a significant amount of time speaking with other lawyers throughout the United States. He has chaired or co-chaired the Plaintiffs Personal Injury CLE for eight years, which is broadcast to hundreds of lawyers throughout Georgia. Doug is also the author of a chapter in Thompson-Wests Handling Motor Vehicle Accident Cases publication. He is an active member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.

When Doug is away from the office, he enjoys spending most of his time with his wife and three children going to football games, fishing, traveling to their cottage in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and serving on his church’s congregational council.

Ann W. Bass

Ann W. Bass is a Legal Assistant at Ausband & Dumont. She is responsible for various administrative duties including client communication, scheduling appointments, obtaining and evaluating medical charts for the Firm's clients and potential cases, and assisting the Firms attorneys in mediation and trial preparations. Before working at Ausband & Dumont, Mrs. Bass gained valuable experience working as a Senior Customer Service Representative for over 12 years at Snapper Incorporated.
Mrs. Bass received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Georgia in 1992.

She and her husband James live in Locust Grove, Georgia, with their two children and attend the Locust Grove United Methodist Church.

Ami Barker

Ami M. Barker is a Paralegal at Ausband & Dumont. She assists the firm's attorneys in various tasks, including legal and administrative duties, obtaining and evaluating medical for the firm's clients, and assisting in mediation and trial preparations. Mrs. Barker takes the time to apply personalized client care needed towards each case.

Mrs. Barker graduated with honors May, 2015 earning her AAS in Paralegal Studies.

Mrs. Barker and her husband, Ricky, live in Locust Grove, Georgia, and enjoy spending time with their 3 children. Whether it's a relaxing weekend at home, watching their children in fast-paced roller hockey games, or taking in school band concerts, Mrs. Barker and her family stay busy and connected.
